Origins

Anish Kapoor is a contemporary visual artist known for his large-scale sculptures and installations. His style, often referred to as 'postminimalist', explores concepts of space, form, and perception. Kapoor gained worldwide recognition in the 1980s for his use of simple geometric shapes and vibrant colors in works such as 'Monumenta' (2011) and 'Cloud Gate' (2006), also known as 'The Bean', which brought him international fame.
