Origins

The Sims is a popular life simulation video game series developed by Maxis and published by EA. It was first released in 2000 and quickly became famous for its unique visual style that combines 3D environments with 2D characters. The game allows players to create and control virtual people called Sims, giving them the ability to build houses, interact with other Sims, and fulfill their needs and aspirations. The bright and colorful graphics, along with the iconic diamond-shaped plumbob above Sims' heads, became instantly recognizable and synonymous with The Sims franchise.
