Origins

Gothic Architecture is a style that emerged in Europe during the Medieval period, particularly in the 12th to 16th centuries. It is known for its grandeur, verticality, and emphasis on light. Gothic Architecture became famous for its rib vaults, pointed arches, flying buttresses, and stained glass windows, all of which allowed for the creation of taller and more illuminated spaces within cathedrals and other religious structures.
