Origins

Constructivism was an influential avant-garde artistic and architectural movement that emerged in Russia after the October Revolution in 1917. It rejected the idea of autonomous art and instead aimed to create a new visual language that had a social and political purpose. Constructivist artworks typically featured geometric shapes, bold colors, and dynamic compositions, often using industrial materials such as metal, glass, and concrete. The style sought to celebrate technology, progress, and the ideals of the new socialist society.
