Claymation
Claymation is a stop-motion animation technique that uses clay or a similar malleable material to create characters and props. The characters and objects are sculpted and positioned on a set, and then meticulously photographed one frame at a time, with slight adjustments to the clay figures in between each shot. The resulting sequence of images gives the illusion of movement when played back at normal speed. Claymation often has a distinct tactile and textured look, showcasing the unique properties of the clay material.
